Obi Obi Parklands has progressed from a concept and is now part of the Maleny Community Precinct Master Plan. The aim is to provide attractive and accessible recreational spaces, gardens, pathways, re-afforested areas, protected wetlands and scenic outlooks, under a model of sound and sustainable management while caring for and restoring our environment.
Tree plantings have already taken place in some of the riparian areas, and regular follow-up maintenance is being undertaken. Wetland and riparian management plans are being developed.
An extensive species list has been compiled of birds, mammals and frogs who make the southern wetland area their home.
Obi Obi Parklands is a project of Maleny Green Hills and is one of the components
of the Maleny Community Precinct.
